Dear Friend of Casey’s House,
We are coming to the end of our first year officially incorporated as Casey’s House, Inc., a non-profit charity dedicated to the homeless cats in our area. This year has brought many exciting changes to Casey’s House and as the newly elected president I would like to share with you some of the things we have done and our vision for the future.
Cindy’s last letter shared our desire to branch out and establish TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) as the primary means of feral cat control. We are pleased to announce that we were able to assist a woman in the Leesburg area to trap/sterilize/immunize and return several feral cats on her property; she will now provide food, water, and shelter for these wonderful felines for life! We now have our eyes on a colony in Frederick County, consisting of about 15 cats needing TNR. In addition, we have socialized and adopted out 30 kittens born to feral mothers. We are pleased with our progress but we want to do more and with your help, we can!
The residents of Casey’s House, the old and hard to adopt cats that began our mission, need your help too! We have a constant barrage of required immunizations, parasite prevention, and general health care costs. Although we continue our weekly adoption efforts at Petco in Leesburg, Virginia, many of our residents are the cats that nobody else wants, but we love them at Casey’s House! Please help us continue to provide for their needs.
Lastly, but most importantly, we need more volunteers! We have a good group of hard-working people that come to help on the weekends but we need people that are available during the week. Duties can include everything from cleaning and feeding to grooming and just plain loving for the cats. Please consider becoming a regular volunteer at Casey’s House! We can work with your schedule; even one day a week would be immensely helpful.
We thank you for your continued support, and please check out our website at www.caseyshouse.org, which will soon feature Casey’s House Web Store with arts and crafts gifts for your cat-loving friends! We wish you a happy new year and look forward to updating you with our future progress.
Sincerely,
Richard
